Powerful Devotional

Tonight as the kids and I read our nightly (ok, we have been slack here lately but we are getting back on track) devotional and it was on Joseph.  The story that went along with our verses was about a little girl who was abused by her mom.  She prayed for God to bless her mom and help her not to be so mean to her and her brother.  After we finished, my older two asked me what the little girl was talking about - what was abused?, why was the pinch marks blue?, and on and on.  It broke my heart that I had to explain what happens in some families and how that there are kids in their schools that maybe in the same situation.

My heart broke at the thought of the kids that are abused every day in this country and around the world.  I look at my four beautiful children and fathom how anyone could be so hurtful to one so innocent. I pray tonight for all those children who are suffering.  I pray that God will take care of them and provide them with a way out.  And I am so thankful to have been raised in a home that was filled with love from my parents.

AAU State Meet

We had our last meet of the competition year and it couldn't have ended better.  My girl of course was all nervous before it started but calmed down when she got there and was around her teammates.  Big thanks to my mother-in-law who stayed with the babies so that I could really enjoy the time with the older kids and my mom.

Her scores were pretty good -
Floor: 8.50
Vault: 9.00
Bars: 8.60
Beam: 9.2
All around: 35.3

Now it was time for awards.  She placed 5th for floor, 4th for bars, 3rd for vault, and 1st on beam in her age group. Then it was time to announce the All-Around winners and guess who got first - my girl.  She was so excited and surprised.

I was excited too which explains why I didn't get many good pictures. Hard to take pictures when your hands are shaking from the excitement.

Our team did good and placed 2nd for the meet.

My state meet champion...

I am so proud of her.

Front yard baseball

Now that the weather is nice, playing outside is what we look forward to all the time.  Yesterday, my nephew and his precious girlfriend stopped by for a few minutes and before long a game of baseball in the front yard started.  I didn't get to play since it was time for the babies to eat.  I must say that it was quite comical watching all of them play.

The boys were winning when they had to quit.

After dinner, my redhead and I went outside for a little baseball game of our own. Being the competitive person that I am I had to try to win the game.  We played two long innings because things get long when you are the only one chasing balls and running bases.  My son was introduced to ghost runners.  I did feel bad because I left one small thing about ghost runners out and that was the fact that if you tag a base where a ghost runner is going before the person batting actually got to base the ghost runner was out.  Yes I left that part out because then I couldn't have gotten as many points.  I told you that I was competitive.

We had a great time but I can tell that I am so out of shape. But nothing cures a little back issue like some good ole Motrin. I have really got to get in shape.

8 Months Old

I say this every time, but where does the time go?

I have to say, I have never seen a kid look like his daddy as much as mine does.

First Game of the Season

Baseball season is officially underway.  We are four games into the season and our record stands at 2-2.  We should have won the two we lost but you know how things can go when you have 9-10 year olds playing.

The first game of the season, my boy got to pitch a little and I have to say he did pretty good. He only pitched an inning and a half but I was so proud of him.

He so enjoys pitching.  I just wish he would pitch as hard at the field as he does at home but with time that will come.

Fun at the Park

The other weekend ( I told you I was behind) we took the kids to the park out by the lake.  The weather was perfect and the kids were ready to go. The babies went down the slide with the older ones and got pushed in the swings.

I tried taking a few pictures of the babies and then of all four but that didn't work out.  I remember when I could take tons of pictures of the older ones but as you can tell they were ready to go.

So looking forward to warmer weather and evidently summer which means swimming at the pool.

Bathtime

Bath time is one of my favorite times.  The babies get so excited.  The other night I did something different.  Since each one of them can sit up good, I put them in the bath at the same time.  I put Camie on the seat part and Jesse on the other end. Needless to say, what happen next was priceless.

Camie was not too excited about the loving part.

And then they just hammed it up...

Updates coming

Hi guys!  Sorry it's been a few days since I have made any updates but life as it can at times be, has been a little crazy.  My goal over the next couple of days is to add a few posts letting you know what's been going on in our little corner of the world.  I also hope to make some visual changes to my blog and will be getting opinions on a couple of options.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!  God Bless!
